The District 19 Democratic Club is an independent organization for
Democrats living in Legislative District 19* of Montgomery County,
Maryland. It is also open to other interested persons as associate
members with non-voting status. There are scheduled meetings throughout
the year as well as formal and informal special events, presentations

Other
events during the year include socials and fund raisers such as holiday
parties, summer picnics and the Montgomery County Democratic Central
Committee's (MCDCC) Democratic Brunch and Spring Ball. You are invited

The
purpose of the District 19 Club is to implement policies and programs
which will promote the vitality and effectiveness of the Montgomery
County Democratic Party. As Democrats, we stand in the proud traditions
of those Democratic leaders who have sought to insure equal opportunity
and social justice for all Americans. The Club’s mission is to inform,
educate and stimulate political conversations and activities in the
neighborhoods and countywide. Further, the Club makes a special effort
to encourage participation and involvement of the culturally diverse
communities within District 19.
Another important purpose of
the Club is to increase voter knowledge and participation in the
political process. We believe the Democratic Party best embodies the
hopes and aspirations of our citizens on the local, state and national
levels.
Critical issues on the Club’s agenda have included:
Candidate debates, Legislative forums, Multicultural Outreach and
Education, Transportation, Education Achievement Gap, Gun Control and
Community Violence, Family and Children’s Issues, Women in Politics,
and Police and Public Safety. Other suggestions and ideas for programs
are welcomed.
